About UsDepartment of Applied Physics has been started to function independently with effect from December 2021. It is functioning as a Department under the School of Applied Science and Technology of the University. The Department at present mainly served as a supportive teaching to the Engineering, Technology and Science Departments at UG & PG level with the aim to develop a strong base of the students in the areas of Science & Engineering Physics. Apart from giving support to other Departments it has taken initiative for starting PG program from the next academic year.
All the faculty members of the Department are also involved in different research projects in the University or in collaboration with other Institutes/Universities along with teaching and other academic activities.
Vision:
To strengthen the fundamentals of Physics and support various branches of Science, Engineering and Technology. To promote and hone research with the contemporary innovative ideas in the field of Applied Physics and allied science. To emerge out as an independent identity in the field of Applied Physics for the development of all inter disciplinary areas. To strive for global recognition for the Department of Applied Physics for academic excellence through the depth of its teaching and research.
Mission:
- To enhance knowledge through involvement in the teaching learning process of the University.
- To strengthen and harmonize the skills for applying basic Physics to technological areas through modern teaching & learning processes.
- To introduce need based PG program to emerge out as a full-fledged Department.
- To transform the fundamental ideas towards research of Applied Physics culminating to Applications in Technology through novel experiments and its consequent applications in Industrial sectors.
